Kabuki is a popular and versatile reveal effect, using individual solenoid activated units which clamp to a bar/truss by half coupler (these can be spaced as appropriate for the fabric/item to be dropped).
As well as drapes of various shapes and sizes, over the years we have used Kabuki to drop a bespoke chandelier, set props and even fish fingers!
Kabuki drapes are usually made out of a lightweight fabric such as Polyester Trevira, Voile or Lame. They are often finished with a keyring attachment at the top for ease of use with our magnetic solenoid units.
Blackout also has a good stock of the lightweight hire drapes in many different colours and sizes.
Power and control are daisy-chained using AMP connectors to IP65 protection (highly weatherproof) and can be fired by a go button on the controller or via DMX. The Kabuki Solenoid system is particularly useful for curved applications.
