Due to his experience and competence as a rigger, Alex was put forward for the assessor training by the Blackout Directors and members of NRAG. He is now fully qualified to assess the NRC qualification which he will partake in at training centres, and onsite.
In his role Alex will assess both level 2 and 3 qualifications to industry standards. The first consists of a written exam and 2 practical assignments held over 2 days, for which he will ensure that riggers carry out tasks in a safe and proficient manner. Level 3 is designed for the supervisory rigger and involves more advanced written questions, a risk assessment, plus the examination of a candidate managing his or her own job.
Alex is very happy to be taking on this extra responsibility and looks forward to providing an encouraging environment for assessments to be held.
